CIA

Central Intelligence Service (CIA) is the primary international intelligence and counterintelligence agency of the U.S. government. Formally established in 1947, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) developed out of the World War II Office of Strategic Services (OSS) (OSS). Previous U.S. surveillance and counterintelligence activities have been undertaken by the military and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and suffered from overlap, rivalry, and lack of organization, issues that persisted, to some degree, into the 21st century.

A chief and a deputy's head, of which only one may be a military officer, are headed by the CIA. The Central Intelligence Chief (DCI) was in charge of all U.S. intelligence collection operations by 2004. DCIs have been recruited into diverse areas, including defense and the military, politics, and companies. They were led by the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Reduction Act 2004.

They made the first appointment to the director and deputy director of national intelligence responsible for coordinating all U.S. agencies participating in intelligence collection, including the CIA); DCI functions as the president's principal intelligence consultant and is also a near trustworthy president. Any intelligence directors have been influential in influencing U.S. external policy.

Four prominent representatives are grouped in the CIA. The Directorate of Information analyzes intelligence obtained by accessible media from mass media. It utilizes covert media by field staff, satellite imagery, radio surveillance, cell telephone interception, and other communication modes. These analyzes are aimed at introducing information from all available sources. In the Cold War, the bulk of this work was geared towards the Soviet Union's defense and military sectors.

Spying (i.e., spy or covert intelligence collectivity) and special classified or sometimes criminal activities, like subversion, is the Operations Directorate's responsibility. Diplomatic coats, used by practically any intelligence agency and businesses and other front firms produced or recognized by the CIA, are carried out in covert operations under different coverages. While some clandestine operations are elaborate, these actions constitute just a tiny fraction of the CIA's total budget.

The Research and Technology Directorate is responsible for keeping the department aware of scientific and technological trends, conducting technical tasks (e.g., managing satellite retrieval intelligence), and handling international media surveillance.

During the Cold War, aerial reconnaissance material gathered comprehensive information on issues so diverse as Soviet grain and soviet ballistic missile production. In fact, during the strategic weapons limitation talks (SALT) of the 1970s, the consensus was explicitly on satellites to track arms production. The intelligence acquired from these satellites was key to the arms control process; In developing surveillance satellites and intercepting other nations' communications, the Directorate of Science and Technology played a part.

Criticism

The CIA has been blamed for performing clandestine activities that are either unethical or unlawful under international law, holding close relations with human rights abuses and other offenders, and the inability to guard its operations.

During the early days of the Cold War, former Nazi intelligence officers were smuggled out of Europe by the CIA and U.S. military intelligence forces, which collaborated alongside other Nazis in the Eastern and Soviet Union intelligence activity. In the 1980s and 1990s, the CIA recruited foreign officials, particularly in Latin America, who took part in civilians' assassination to infiltrate foreign terrorist organizations.

HOW THE CIA COMMANDEERED THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION

At the turn of the 20th century, the legalization of narcotics clashed with the "open door" program for Chinese Secretary of State John Hay. The open door strategy emerged from the First Opium War of Great Britain (1839-1842) against China. It is one of the tragedies of American history. The British then insisted that "free trade" made the world more prosperous by civilizing it. They told them that free trade gave them God's right to exchange Indian opium for tea for China. They shared this principle with confederate Americans who were fighting for their own slaves' rights.

As the dominant partner in the relationship, the CIA exploited its affinity with the FBN. "Like the CIA," FBN Agent Robert DeFauw explained, "narcotics agents mount covert operations. We pose as members of the narcotics trade. The big difference is that we're in foreign countries legally, and through our police and intelligence sources, we can check out just about anyone or anything. Not only that, we're operational.

So the CIA jumped in our stirrups." Jumping into the FBN's stirrups afforded the CIA deniability. To further ensure that the CIA's criminal activities are not revealed to the public, narcotics agents are organized militarily within the sacred chain of command. Highly indoctrinated, they blindly obey on a "need to know" basis. This institutionalized ignorance sustains the illusion of American righteousness, in the name of national security, upon which their motivation to commit all manner of crimes depends.

The CIA has abused its affinity with the FBN as the key collaborator for this partnership. "As with the CIA, narcotics agents are operating covertly," FBN Agent Robert DeFauw explained. We are part of the cocaine trafficking industry. The big difference is that we're legally overseas, and we can find out just about anybody or something from our police and intelligence channels. We're operational, not only that. The CIA thus sprung up in our stirrups. The CIA deniability was provided by hopping into the stirrups of the FBN.

Furthermore, drug agents are coordinated militarily within the holy chain of command to ensure that illegal actions are not exposed to the media. They passively follow on a "need to know" basis, too indoctrinated. This institutionalized cynicism sustains the idea of U.S. justice, in the name of national security, on which it rests to commit some crime.
